Everyone’s an expert at something. Sometimes you’re the expert, other times you’re not but, that hat needs to be shared.

To make good projects happen you need good people. Experts want to work where their expertise is recognized. They want to work with smart people who are experts in their own rights.

There’s a good and a bad way to work with them.

  • Good way: Rely on their expertise. Express needs, discuss ideas and challenge decisions.
  • Bad way: Rely on your own opinion. Take all decisions – experts are there to execute and do things you don’t have time to do.

With the right approach, talented people will love working with you. Don’t know (or appear to know) more than your experts, leave the expertise to them.
